Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for tasks related to animal husbandry, enrichment opportunities and facilities maintenance as they relate to animal care, with the goal of providing consistent, high-quality products and services to our customers with complete, accurate documentation.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Position Requirements:
NOTE: Qualifications are based upon education, resume and/or work experience.
- Farm animal background or work experience preferred but not required.
- A valid driver’s license in good standing for a minimum of 3 years.
- Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good oral and written communication skills (English) required.
- Good mathematical skills required.
- Must be a team player, enjoy working with animals, and demonstrate a commitment to the quality care of animals.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as a group, manage multiple priorities, and complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to perform all work (labor, tool use, equipment operation, etc.), and interact with others, in a safe and responsible manner.
Essential Functions include (but are not limited to):
- Cleaning and bedding of animal pens and cleaning associated feeders/waterers.
- Performing routine cleanings of all barns, common use areas and associated support areas.
- Preparation and staging of supplies around the facilities.
- Perform routine husbandry tasks including, but not limited to: hoof trimming, shearing, weighing animals, brushing cattle and equine, beak and foot trimming.
- Record any observations on treatment sheets and barn diaries as appropriate or directed.
- Perform animal inventory for all species.
- Assist in bleeding operations as needed, including catching and restraint.
- Update all husbandry tasks in ENOS software and paperwork as appropriate.
- Evaluate current systems, projects and products for improvement and efficiencies in animal care.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching at various times throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift and or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to safely access and navigate throughout the organization’s facilities to perform assigned job duties.
- Extremes of temperature, including heat in summer months and cold in winter months.
- The noise level in the work environment and job sites can vary from minimal to loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, and sitting.
