Cost AccountantJob Category: FINANCE / ITRequisition Number: COSTA001098Posted: May 29, 2025Full-TimeHybridHQ Lake Forest Foothill Ranch, CA 92610, USAJob DetailsDescriptionResponsibilitiesEnsure that inventory is properly valued on the balance sheet and assist with the establishment of required reserves (as needed)Help maintain the standard cost system including the analysis and disposition of variances and make periodic updates to standard costsAssist with review and costing of new partsAssist with physical inventory counts and reconciliationsAssist with the analysis and presentation of gross profit on a monthly basis to ManagementPrepare journal entries, account fluctuation analysis and account reconciliationsEnsures the proper recognition of COGSPartner with other departments to resolve variances and issuesRecognize evolving business process issues to ensure that proper accounting outcomes are achieved and controls are adequateAssist with financial statement auditsParticipate in ad hoc projects and analysis as neededEnsure all reports, analysis, working files, and journal entries are organized and well-documented for clarity as well as quick and easy auditingRequirementsBA/BS degree, accounting preferredAnalytical with the ability to effectively communicate insights to various audiencesTeam player with the ability to collaborate with multiple departmentsAt least three years of cost accounting experience with manufacturingGood understanding of GAAP and cost accounting conceptsExperience with an ERP (such as NetSuite or Oracle) in a manufacturing environmentGood problem-solving skills and advanced Excel skillsStrong attention to detail and deadline-orientedMotivation to learn how things work and whyAnnual Salary Range: $75k - $85kEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
