Summary:  The Inventory Control Specialist (ICS) is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting to ensure that all materials are properly verified and that the reported inventory reflects the actual inventory. The ICS will maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports, and transfers. The ICS will also assist the Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and Customer Service in locating materials. The ICS maintains a dual-reporting structure. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager for administrative and financial compliance and operates under the daily guidance and supervision of the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cycle count materials based on the “ABC” grouping system, which will be monitored by the Warehouse Manager, and also cycle count materials as issues arise.
• Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory and bin location reports. 
• Assist in determining root causes of inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors. 
• Responsible for answering CS, Warehouse, Production, and Engineering inquiries in a timely manner. 
• Assist all Warehouse Pullers to locate materials. 
• Assist in updating dimensions and weights for all materials in the database. 
• Be able to operate order picker, sit-down lifts, and other warehouse equipment carefully and safely. 
• Must be able to accurately perform SAP transactions relative to the Warehouse inventory system. 
• Must be capable of looking up part numbers and locations in the SAP database. 
• Data entry of work orders, parts, and quantities
• Always follow all safety rules and regulations
• Always maintain a clean and organized work area 
• Maintains Putzmeister America’s high standards of quality. 
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications:

• Data entry skills 
• Detail-oriented 
• Organizational skills
• Mathematical proficiency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite with emphasis on Excel
• Experience with ERP system(s) preferred

Education/Certification/Training:

• High school diploma or GED. 
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with large and expensive products. 
• Must operate large forklifts, moving extremely heavy materials.
