To effectively support the classroom teacher to ensure positive student achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications t o perform this job successfully, a n individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill s, and/or abilities required to be successful:
* Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation, (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, (NACES). Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

- High School Diploma or GED and
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Sixty (60) College Credits or ability to pass the ParaPro Test

- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines, adheres to OSHA regulations and guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate personnel with an alternate plan.
- Assist the classroom teacher by performing tasks which support the instructional program.
- Assist in the instruction of students working individually or in small groups.
- May monitor student activities such as test-taking, study hall, cafeteria or field trips.
- Distributes materials to students.
- May facilitate adjustment of new students to program.
- May assist students with special needs.
- Performs related duties as required.
- 9-month contract, Hourly/Non-Exempt position under FLSA. Placement on Classified salary schedule by the Human Resource Director dependent upon education and experience

- Must pass Department of Public Safety Fingerprint clearance check.
- Must be United States citizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa, (if necessary), will be needed for fingerprint clearance card and I-9 documentation prior to first day of work.
- Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
- Proof of Mumps, Measles and Rubella, (MMR) vaccination.
- Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.
