R&D Engineer

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in St. Paul, MN 55117. Details of the position are as follows:


Responsibilities:

• Pay: $55-58/ hour to Start!!
• 11 months assignment, Potential for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
• Work Schedule: 9-5pm, Monday - Friday.
• Position will be mainly responsible for defining, decomposing, and managing system and software requirements, ensuring traceability from feature concept through verification and product release.
• Position will be responsible for leading technical product ownership activities, including feature prioritization, backlog management, roadmap execution, and coordination with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Position will be responsible for supporting software, firmware, and hardware integration efforts, troubleshooting complex system-level issues, and driving root cause analysis activities.
• Position will be responsible for collaborating with software, verification, and systems engineering teams throughout the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through testing and release.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is Required!
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is Preferred!
• 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting complex software-intensive products is Required!
• Strong C++ development experience is Required!
• Experience with requirements engineering, including requirements decomposition, traceability, user stories, and acceptance criteria is Required!
• Experience with software and hardware integration in complex electromechanical or embedded systems is Required!
• Experience with systems-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and verification activities is Required!
• Experience working across the full product development lifecycle from concept through release is Preferred!
• Agile Product Owner experience, including backlog management, feature prioritization, and roadmap planning is Preferred!
• Experience translating system requirements into architecture and software design solutions is Preferred!
• Experience in regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive is Preferred!
• Medical Device and Electrophysiology experience is Strongly Preferred!
• Experience with IEC 62304 and Class II/III medical device software development is Preferred!
• Knowledge of FDA cybersecurity guidance, GDPR, patient privacy, and secure product development practices is Preferred!
• Experience with signal processing, algorithms, real-time visualization, cloud technologies, or analytics platforms is Preferred!
