Retail Sales Supervisor

Pay Rate: $19.00 an hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule, train, coach and evaluate staff, and conduct performance reviews
• Direct daily work activities and inspect completed work for conformance to standards
• Develop, maintain, and provide direction related to policies and procedures
• Prepare for and conduct inventories and manage inventory control system
• Anticipate traffic levels and order and maintain stock levels using department guidelines
• Develop and maintain business relationships with various vendors
• Review revenue audits and profit and loss statements to identify cost savings and maximize revenue
• Effectively communicate with support departments
• Identify and resolve merchandise problems, over/short shipments and billing errors
• Maintain the overall general appearance of the retail sales and storage areas
• Maintain operation, fill and make deposits of sales for cigarette vending machines

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required Knowledge and Certification:

• 1-year previous cash register experience
• 1 -ear previous customer service experience

Preferred Knowledge and Certification:

• High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience
• Previous supervisory experience

Required Skills:

• Accurate and detail-oriented
• Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Strong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Windows XP
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Above average math skills

• Ability to work fast and efficiently
• Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
• Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to serve both internal and external customers

• Ability to enthusiastically and professionally sell/ upsell gift shop items and property amenities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to walk and / or stand and for periods of up to 8 hours
• Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
• Must be able to reach and twist occasionally
• Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
• Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pounds routinely
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
• Must have good eye hand coordination

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed primarily in the retail and smoke shops including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
• Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
• Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
• High volume direct public contact
