(SEA) Assistant Swim Coach I

Provides instruction on competitive swimming techniques for a competitive swim program. Prepares participants for swimming competition by assisting the Swim Coach in implementing appropriate training for the age groups. Essential Job Functions Assists Swim Coach with preparing workout plans as required for the various levels of athlete. Teaches competitive swimming techniques as assigned. Assists Swim Coach with meet seeding. Assists with preparation of the facility to carry out practices and competitions. Assists with athlete supervision during swimming competitions. Other Job Duties (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.) Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.) Knowledge of-- Modern swimming techniques. Ability to-- Deal effectively with the public. Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.) Training and/or Education: CPR/First Aid/AED Certified Experience: Two years of competitive swimming. Six months experience teaching learn to swim classes or stroke development classes. Licenses or Certificates: USA Swimming Coach Certification preferred or must be successfully obtained within 3 months of hire. Special Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or have work permit. Subject to background investigation. Physical Demands: Work requires medium to heavy physical effort. Unusual Demands: Works evenings and weekends.
