Description
- Assess patients across diverse age groups-pediatric, adult, and geriatric-utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that comprehensively address both immediate and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that hone in on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
- Collaborate interprofessionally with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, as well as families and caregivers to establish cohesive treatment plans.
- Empower patients and families through education that supports progress beyond clinical encounters.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuity of care.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation that meets the standards set forth by state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Engage in continuing education and collaborative peer discussions to remain current with clinical advancements.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based approaches for speech therapy across all age ranges, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing conditions.
- Strong communication abilities that foster relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Capacity to adapt therapeutic methods to address varied cultural and linguistic needs.
- Sound clinical judgment coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with electronic medical records and the associated documentation protocols.
