Description

• Assess patients across diverse age groups-pediatric, adult, and geriatric-utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational methods.
• Create tailored treatment plans that comprehensively address both immediate and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that hone in on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
• Collaborate interprofessionally with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, as well as families and caregivers to establish cohesive treatment plans.
• Empower patients and families through education that supports progress beyond clinical encounters.
• Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuity of care.
• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation that meets the standards set forth by state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Engage in continuing education and collaborative peer discussions to remain current with clinical advancements.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
