At SimonMed Imaging, the MRI Cardiac Monitoring Registered Nurse plays a critical clinical role in ensuring patient safety during MRI exams, particularly for pacemaker-dependent and cardiac patients. This role combines advanced cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and radiology support to ensure safe, seamless imaging experiences. Advanced cardiac monitoring expertise: You interpret EKGs, identify arrhythmias, and monitor cardiac activity to ensure patient safety throughout MRI procedures. MRI safety and clinical judgment: You apply specialized knowledge of MRI safety protocols, particularly for patients with implanted cardiac devices and complex medical conditions. Strong procedural and IV skills: You start IVs, administer medications as ordered, and manage contrast reactions according to established clinical protocols. Critical thinking in high-acuity settings: You assess patient condition in real time, respond to emergencies, and make sound clinical decisions in fast-paced environments. Collaborative care approach: You work closely with technologists, radiologists, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, efficient, and safe patient care. Strong documentation and communication skills: You accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient data in EMR systems while maintaining clear communication with care teams.
