Unit: Constant Observers

Weekly Working Hours: 40 hours/week; Full Time Benefitted

Shift: Night Shift; 7p - 7:30a; weekend work required

The Constant Observer (CO) is an entry level position that provides direct patient observation in an inpatient setting in order to assure the safety and well-being of the patient under the supervision of the RN. The constant observer is responsible to assist in the plan of care for specific patients related to patient safety and functions to continuously observe patients who are at risk for any type of harm. The constant observer is an integral part of the health care team and works closely with the nursing care team to ensure the patient's safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification on Maryland Board of Nursing
• Current BLS CPR certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network

Salary Range: Minimum $16.74/hour - Maximum $25.94/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
