Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based audiologist supporting students’ unique communication needs. This full-time itinerant role spans multiple school campuses, offering engaging variety and the chance to make an impact in diverse educational settings. Starting mid-December through early June, you'll work Monday through Friday, contributing 37.5 hours per week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and create detailed reports for students with hearing loss and Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD)
- Play a pivotal role in IEP, IFSP, and 504 plan development, including attending meetings and recommending accommodations and interventions tailored to student needs
- Oversee and manage Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT/FM) equipment: ordering, troubleshooting, and maintaining devices to ensure seamless support for students
- Provide basic troubleshooting for hearing aids and amplification systems
- Serve as a liaison, consulting closely with families, teachers, school and district teams, and the DHH team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring students’ optimal access to educational programming and support services
Qualifications:
- Current, valid California Audiology license required
- Experience with school-age populations and familiarity with IEP, IFSP, and 504 support preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills, comfortable working across multiple sites
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of hearing assistive technologies and audiological assessment tools
