WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Physical Security Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

• Serving as the technical authority for the physical security program by developing, implementing, and monitoring security policies, procedures, and protective measures.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments, threat analyses, and risk assessments to evaluate security posture and recommend corrective actions.
• Reviewing facility designs, construction plans, and security system requirements to ensure compliance with physical security standards and operational needs.
• Managing security-related contracts and coordinate with federal, state, and local partners to support security operations and program objectives. Preparing purchase request (PRs) Statement of works (SOW) and acquisition plans.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

• Managing physical security programs by developing and implementing security procedures, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.
• Conducting vulnerability and risk assessments of facilities to identify security gaps and recommend protective measures for personnel, facilities, and assets.
• Evaluating and implementing physical security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and vehicle and pedestrian screening technologies.
• Conducting security oversight and contract management, preparing purchase request (PRs) Statement of works (SOW) and acquisition plans and serving as a liaison with federal, state, local, and private-sector partners.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
