Carpenters will work on small and large projects and are expected to bring the skills and knowledge to take a project from frame to finish.AccountabilityExecution of CarpentryMaintenance and organization of the job siteJobsite safetyObjectivesReports to the job site on time, alert, and able on a daily basisKnows what tasks are coming next and ensures that he/she has the necessary tools and stockSets up the job site in the morning with the proper tools and equipment needed for that dayKeeps job site clean and debris-freeCleans equipment as needed and securely stores equipment at the end of the dayWears personal protective gear, such as but not limited to safety glasses and ear protection, at all times on the jobProvides guidance and supervision for apprentice carpenters and laborersPractices responsible tool care and maintenancePositively represents the company through all interactions with coworkers, vendors, and subcontractorsAscendancy PlanTrain under the guidance of lead carpenters to acquire additional skills in all areas of constructionAccumulate all of the personal tools needed to perform all aspects of carpentryContinued education in the form of classes and certifications related to constructionTake responsibility for managing the day-to-day logistics of construction, including materials acquisition and tooling, time management, and planning for overall efficiencyAdditional Position ResponsibilitiesAdditional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs.Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience4 or more years of relevant experience in carpentryRRP Training is a plusCompetent to perform all facets of construction from frame to finish carpentryAble to do full-scale layout when necessary to resolve problematic tile/trim/cabinet situationsKnowledge of common construction practices and methods and recognize when to ask for guidanceRead and understand blueprints or set of plansBuild walls, steel and wood construction, with proper fastening tools and fastenersSet trusses and joists properly, with bracing per planFrame door and window openings per planInstall blocking and fire blocking per code requirementsInstall cabinets per planAble to find solutions to problems and think creatively and with latitudeWorking Environment & Physical RequirementsWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
