Externship (4th Year) Pay: STIPEND Start Date: June 1st 2027 Application Deadline: September 16th 2026 About Waterloo Audiology: Waterloo Audiology is excited to offer a 4th‑year audiology externship opportunity for a motivated Au.D. student seeking a well‑rounded clinical experience in a growing private practice environment. Our state‑of‑the‑art clinics in Seguin and San Marcos, Texas, provide comprehensive audiologic care with a strong focus on patient‑centered hearing healthcare, diagnostic excellence, and hearing rehabilitation. Our practice offers a unique opportunity to experience the intersection of private practice audiology and medical collaboration through a dynamic hybrid ENT and private practice office setting. The extern will gain exposure to a wide variety of audiology services while working closely with experienced audiologists and healthcare professionals. Externship Experience The extern will rotate between our Seguin and San Marcos locations and become an integral part of the clinical team. This externship is designed to provide hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced outpatient setting while emphasizing best‑practice audiology, patient counseling, and evidence‑based hearing healthcare. The majority of the extern’s caseload will include adult diagnostic audiology and hearing aid services, with opportunities for pediatric assessment and additional clinical experiences. Responsibilities Comprehensive audiologic evaluations for adult patients Pediatric hearing evaluations and behavioral testing (as caseload allows) Hearing aid consultations, selection, fitting, and follow‑up care Exposure to many different hearing aid manufacturers (including Lyric) Hearing aid programming and verification using Real Ear Measurement (REM) Hearing aid troubleshooting, counseling, and patient education Cerumen management observation/opportunities (as applicable) Earmold impressions and custom hearing solutions Tinnitus counseling and hearing wellness discussions Participation in ENT referral workflows and medical collaboration Exposure to private practice operations, patient experience, and business management Learning Opportunities Develop and refine diagnostic and therapeutic audiology skills Gain familiarity with a range of hearing aid technologies and fitting protocols Learn real‑ear measurement techniques and troubleshooting strategies Observe and participate in ENT referral and interdisciplinary teamwork Experience private practice business operations and patient experience management Why Waterloo Audiology?
