Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a night shift position at a children's hospital requiring current BLS and Oklahoma RCP licensure.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Care department of a children's hospital setting
• Provide care to pediatric patients of all appropriate age levels across all department-served areas
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients
• Serve as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 26-week contract length

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program required
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within 12 months of hire
• Current BLS (AHA) required upon hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Previous work in a children's-only hospital preferred
• Certifications must be issued by AHA only

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
• Record treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record
• Act as a resource person to medical staff regarding respiratory care
• Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning workers may extend a contract only once for a total of 26 weeks, and must have a 6-month separation before applying for another contract
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and will not allow push starts
• Candidates must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to meet compliance requirements
