Junior Engineer

Job Overview Altus Technology Solutions is seeking a Junior Engineer to support engineering, technical, and modernization initiatives at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD). The role supports research, development, manufacturing, testing, facility modernization, and technical program execution. The Junior Engineer assists with engineering analysis, technical documentation, design support, project coordination, and engineering evaluations across multiple disciplines. Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Clearance: Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (interim clearance required before start). Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline. Experience: 1-3 years relevant engineering experience. Primary Responsibilities Support engineering projects involving research, development, manufacturing, testing, and technical program execution. Assist with engineering analysis, design support, technical evaluations, and problem-solving activities. Support development and maintenance of technical documentation, reports, specifications, and data packages. Assist with engineering studies, technical investigations, and project support activities. Participate in engineering reviews, design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning efforts. Support testing, evaluation, validation, and verification activities for engineering projects and systems. Assist with data collection, technical analysis, and preparation of engineering recommendations. Support engineering change activities, technical assessments, and modernization initiatives. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support project objectives and customer requirements. Assist with preparation and maintenance of technical data packages (TDPs), drawings, procedures, and records. Support compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications. Participate in continuous improvement efforts and engineering process enhancement initiatives. Coordinate with government personnel, contractors, vendors, and technical stakeholders as required. Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives. Qualifications Required: Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (interim clearance before start date). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline. Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering experience. Knowledge of engineering principles, technical problem-solving methodologies, and engineering processes. Ability to analyze technical information and develop recommendations. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams. Preferred: Experience supporting Department of Defense programs or facilities. Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, testing, or technical projects. Familiarity with technical data packages (TDPs), engineering documentation, and technical reporting. Experience supporting engineering analysis, testing, or design activities. Experience supporting research, development, or modernization initiatives. Experience working within industrial, laboratory, manufacturing, or production environments.
