Production Manager

Preó is now hiring a Full-Time Production Manager (1st Shift) for their Metals Department in Somerset, WI. The Production Manager of the Metals market has 3 primary responsibilities. The Production Manager develops the production schedule to meet customer requirements and efficiently utilize equipment and personnel. This includes direct interaction with the Program Manager, Quality, Engineering, and customers. This position manages the Supervisors for all shifts to ensure best practices in manufacturing and quality control are maintained. The 2nd responsibility is to directly manage production personnel for their shift. Key Responsibilities: Develop manufacturing schedule for Metals market that exceeds on time delivery metric, identifies delivery risk, and defines recovery actions. Work with Production Supervisors to maintain efficient production on all shifts to support production schedule. All products must meet specifications and teams are empowered to stop production if specifications are not met. Use production analytics to identify process and procedure problems that negatively affect quality and efficiency. This includes rejected products, output below target, and machine downtime. Work with team, other shifts, Engineering, and Quality to resolve problems and continuously improve processes across all shifts. Lead Production Supervisors in prioritizing and selecting improvement projects that are utilized by all shifts. Coordinate training of personnel with Production Supervisors. Build and motivate a well-functioning team by selecting, training, and facilitating for production aptitude, technical expertise, and leadership/interpersonal skills. Develop/implement growth and development plans for personnel. This includes daily feedback and annual reviews. Work with Sales and Applications to coordinate time on equipment and technical staff for new product testing/development. Work with Engineering during the design, development, and startup of new equipment. Ensure all personnel are aware of and follow Preó safety protocols. Perform other tasks as directed by Manager. Job Requirements: Minimum of 10 years industrial experience with minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role for operations management. Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and purchase agreements/orders. Strong interpersonal, leadership, written communication, and computer skills. Understanding of quality systems, MRP/ERP systems. Familiar with lean principles (value stream mapping, Kaizen, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field Good understanding of laser processing methods Ability to meet role-specific visual and color-acuity standards annually.
