Outpatient Recovery Room RN - Flexible Shifts

Position: Registered Nurse - Nursing Recovery Room Outpatient Mhasc (Job ID: 37265) Location: METROHEALTH OUTPT SURGERY CTR, CLEVELAND, OH Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: Variable shifts and days Responsibilities Plans for, delivers, documents, and evaluates nursing care of patients in the assigned area based on individual needs, provider orders, and approved nursing standards and policies. Directs the activities of nursing personnel. Observes, assesses, and reports on patient condition. Maintains accurate, timely documentation reflecting condition, treatment, and response to care. Upholds MetroHealth System mission, vision, values, and customer service standards. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation). Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio. Current AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire. Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences and their applications. Knowledge of use and care of instruments, equipment, and supplies related to nursing services or ambulatory medical practice. Knowledge of the principles of medical asepsis. Ability to maintain positive relationships with employees and medical staff. High degree of physical coordination and hand‑dexterity. PRN and float staff: minimum one year of experience (or as required by unit) and recent experience in area of clinical interest. All clinical nurses must attain unit‑specific competencies within the defined period after placement. Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required by AAP. Preferred: BSN and additional certifications Step‑down experience (BMT) Operating Room: One year of OR experience and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Post‑Procedure Care Unit: One year PACU or critical care experience. Psychiatry: One year of prior psychiatric experience. Radiology: Five years of critical care experience. Cardio‑Pulmonary Rehab: Two years of prior experience in cardiac‑pulmonary nursing (outpatient or inpatient). Experience in smoking cessation, wellness, exercise in special populations such as diabetes, obesity, arthritis. TB Clinic public health or TB experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills and prior supervisory or project management experience. Physical requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. Visual acuity within normal ranges with or without correction. Hearing within normal ranges with or without correction. Ability to lift 250–300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push or pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
