Position Overview

This position is for a traveler required to possess an active State of Hawaii license by the start of the assignment. This role involves working in a Progressive Care Unit.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night shift from 18:45 to 07:15
• Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• Additional Information: No guarantee of hours and no call required

Unit Information

• Type: 15-bed unit, featuring 3 Step Down ICU and 12 telemetry beds
• Staffing Ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU

General Job Duties

• Primary nursing care
• Telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Fingerstick blood sugar testing

Equipment Utilization

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience within the last year; experience in Progressive Care and telemetry is preferred
• Licensure and Certifications:
  
  
  • Current Hawaii nursing license
  • ACLS preferred
  • PALS preferred
  • NIHSS certification preferred

Floating Requirements

Candidates may be required to float to all acute units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs are the required attire for this position.

Additional Information

Travelers must arrive the Thursday before the start of the assignment to attend an employee health appointment on Friday. Please ensure availability to meet this requirement before accepting the offered start date.
