92F Petroleum Supply Specialist

Overview Fuel is one of the most vital components of the Army National Guard. It’s what keeps Soldiers pushing onward, and as a Petroleum Supply Specialist you’ll make sure they never run out. In this position you will ensure proper handling, storage and shipment of petroleum‑based products such as oil, fuel and compressed gas. Responsibilities Receive and stock bulk and packaged petroleum products. Issue and dispense bulk fuels and water from storage and distribution facilities to using units. Operate specialized pumping equipment for loading trucks, ships, trains and aircraft. Select and submit samples of petroleum‑based products for testing. Perform petroleum and water accounting activities. Test petroleum samples for contamination, repair specialized equipment. Apply facility safety procedures and storage guidelines. Supervise and train soldiers, assign duties, spot‑check work quality and ensure safety procedures adherence (advanced). Skills Development (What You’ll Learn) Operating airplane refueling systems and equipment. Planning and scheduling petroleum transport. Testing oil and fuels. Helpful Skills Interest in shop mechanics and business math. Enjoy physical work. Earn While You Learn Get paid to learn—join the Army National Guard, earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance through paid training and certified apprenticeship programs. Training After 10 weeks of Basic Training you will attend 11 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which combines hands‑on and classroom instruction that prepares you for a civilian career with oil refineries, pipeline companies, tanker truck and ship lines.
