Construction Safety Representative Location: Canton, OH Duration: 2 Years (Start: 10/12) Type: 1099 Contractor Pay Rate: $56/hr Per Diem: None Completion Bonus: $150/month Pay Frequency: Weekly Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM | 60 Hours Per Week Additional Schedule Details: Long-term project with consistent overtime opportunities supporting early-phase site development activities. The Construction Safety Representative will provide daily field safety oversight for civil construction crews, subcontractors, and supervision while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements. Required Qualifications CHST, ASP, CSP, or Other BCSP Credential Current CPR / First Aid / AED Certification Minimum 5+ Years of Construction Safety Experience Preferred Preferred Qualifications Data Center Construction Experience Civil Construction Safety Experience Excavation & Trenching Safety Experience Underground Utility Installation Experience Heavy Civil Construction Experience What You'll Be Doing Provide daily field safety oversight for civil construction operations Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments Monitor excavation activities, utility installation, grading operations, and heavy equipment activities Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project Technical Knowledge OSHA Construction Standards Data Center Construction Safety Civil Construction Operations Excavation & Trenching Safety Requirements Soil Classification & Protective Systems Underground Utility Construction Heavy Equipment Operations Traffic Control & Site Logistics Material Handling Operations Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions Contractor Safety Management Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate is a hands-on, field-focused safety professional with experience supporting civil construction and site development operations.
