Job Summary Technician providing technical and patient support and patient care. Communicates continuously with the physician about patient condition. Assists physician during invasive and non‑invasive procedures. Operates all equipment safely and correctly; assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Technician is authorized to be in the presence of medications. Responsibilities Assists in cleanup of the room following procedures, including appropriate disposal of used supplies, handling of instruments, returning and restocking of supplies; participates in restocking, re‑supplying, and cleaning of support areas. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for procedures; gives patients explanations and verbal reassurances consistently. Sets up and scrubs for procedures in a timely manner to allow the patient to enter the room 5 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Maintains aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies, setting up procedures, and during all invasive procedures. Operates all imaging equipment safely and correctly; performs preventive maintenance as needed; ensures proper functioning prior to, during, and after each procedure. Works as a team member, assists physicians, and assists with interpretation of data collected. Scrubs, circulates, and operates in the control room for all procedures in the Cardiac Cath Laboratory. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes safety and reduces likelihood of medical error. Performs patient‑care responsibilities considering needs specific to standard of care for patients of all ages. Assures radiation safety and monitoring. Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Experience: Formal two‑year radiologic technology training in an AMA‑approved school that meets ARRT registration requirements; or equivalent on‑the‑job training including a minimum of four months orientation. Current ARRT registration and Arizona MRTBE license. Education: Completion of formal two‑year radiologic technology training in an AMA‑approved school; or equivalent. Certifications: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration; Current Arizona MRTBE license; Current BLS. Background: Ability to work safely in a Cardiac Cath Laboratory setting; strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Requirements Certifications: ARRT(CI), (VI), or ARRT(CV); ACLS.
