Harborview Eye Institute has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator/Scheduler.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Full-time ( 40 hours weekly)

• Day Shift/ Mondays- Fridays

• THIS IS A 6 MONTH ASSIGNMENT FROM DATE OF HIRE

• No Telework/On-site

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Located two blocks from the main medical center in Harborviews Ninth & Jefferson Building on First Hill in Seattle the UW Medicine Eye Institute offers cutting-edge medical and surgical eye care for common to complex conditions and disorders.

Our staff provides comprehensive treatment for people with glaucoma cataracts diseases of the retina cornea orbit and nerves and age-related eye diseases. We also perform refractive procedures such as LASIK and oculofacial plastic surgery procedures.

Eyes on James is our full-service optical shop in the Ninth & Jefferson building and offers eye exams specialty glasses and contact lenses.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty
• Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments
• Act as a liaison between patients consulting physician referring physician or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments admission or surgery. Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen
• Coordinate anesthesia
• Obtain all necessary medical records diagnostic studies pathology items etc. that are needed for patient care
• Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician
• Enter appointment information in online appointment system
• Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures
• Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed
• Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians medical staff and Admitting
• Other assigned duties

REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduation or equivalent
• AND two years of experience in the program specialty
• OR equivalent education/experience
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$23.41 hourly
