A day in the life on 2nd shift CNC Turning Machinist (2nd Shift)

You arrive for second shift, review your job packet, and pull up the correct program. You’ll set up and operate CNC lathes, check your tooling, make the necessary offsets, and chase tight tolerances with confidence. Throughout the run, you verify dimensions with inspection tools and keep a sharp eye on surface finish and consistency.

• Compensation: $25.00–$35.00/hr + 10% shift differential
• Core work: CNC lathe setups, offsets, blueprint interpretation, in-process inspection, precision component production

Hob & Shape Machinist (2nd Shift)

You set up gear hobbing and shaping machines to exacting specs. You read prints and process sheets, dial in tooling, and monitor each cut to achieve the gear geometry and finish required. Final checks ensure every part meets strict quality standards.

• Compensation: $25.00–$33.00/hr + 10% shift differential
• Core work: Gear hobbing/shaping setups, blueprint and process spec review, precision inspection, support of high-accuracy gear production

What you bring

• Hands-on CNC machining experience
