The CN I is expected to successfully complete all requirements of Member Organization's Nurse Residency Program (if applicable) and departmental orientation. The CN I will achieve practice readiness as defined by UMMS: "The ability to assess and manage each patient's diverse clinical needs while demonstrating the confidence and competence to safely perform and coordinate the interventions needed to provide equitable, comprehensive patient centered care." The CN I provides direct patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and remains accountable for professional practice in alignment with UMMS Mission, Vision, and Values.Competent evaluation with successful passing of probation; current on all mandatory classes/training.Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education/year.Member of a professional organization.Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.Demonstrated ability to lead others, such as effectiveness as charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical resource. Demonstrated effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member.Ability to learn and use computer systems in order to manage patient information.Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
