About the Role

Join a team building the structural and mechanical heart of modern wind turbines. As a Wind Turbine Drivetrain Assembly Specialist, you’ll assemble nacelles (machine houses), hubs, and drive trains with precision—advancing our mission to deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality.

Your shift starts with a toolbox talk and safety walkthrough. You review work instructions and drawings, prep tools (hand, power, torque), and coordinate with crane operators. Through the day, you’ll align large components, verify fits, and record quality checks—closing out tasks within target cycle times to keep production on pace.

• Build mechanical assemblies for wind turbines using hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and overhead cranes.
• Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to achieve exacting specifications.
• Perform precision torquing, alignment, and fit-up of major components, including gearboxes, bearings, and shafts.
• Conduct safety inspections and keep work areas clean and orderly to prevent injuries.
• Meet or exceed production targets by completing assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
• Move and stage materials—lifting, positioning, and removing parts from work cells as needed.
• Partner with Quality, PQA, and Engineering on process improvements, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support adjacent production areas as assigned; assist electrical assembly when required.

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Mechanical certifications or relevant technical training.
• 3+ years in mechanical assembly or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret work instructions, mechanical blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Background in wind turbine, automotive, or industrial equipment assembly.
• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced production setting.
• Reliable, accountable, and driven to complete tasks with excellence.
• Positive mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
• Overhead crane operation experience; ability to obtain and maintain crane operator certification (required).
• Proficient with torque tools, pneumatic/hydraulic tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test (required) and work at heights.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000:2000 quality systems is a plus.

Safety is paramount. You’ll model best practices, follow all regulations and company policies, identify and address hazards, and use proper PPE (eye/ear protection, steel-toe boots, hard hats). Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. Clear English communication is essential to understand and relay safety and job-related information to supervisors and teammates.
