Registered Nurse Peds ICU

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive family-entered care to pediatric patients in a mixed acuity critical care environment. The PICU primarily cares for children with acute respiratory compromise including conditions such as RSV bronchiolitis pneumonia and severe asthma exacerbations requiring highflow oxygen therapy noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP) or mechanical ventilation. Many admissions involve respiratory support and frequent assessment with rapid response to clinical changes. The unit also manages postoperative and surgical patients PICU Registered Nurses care for patients with sepsis or evolving shock as well as metabolic and endocrine emergencies with particular emphasis on diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and complex diabetes management. This role requires strong pediatric assessment skills sound clinical judgment proficiency with advanced respiratory and metabolic therapies and effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe highquality care in a fastpaced pediatric ICU setting.

We hire experienced RNs and also welcome new graduates offering up to 12 weeks of orientation with dedicated preceptor support. Qualifications:

• Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN) Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
