Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through final closeout by ensuring every project is thoroughly understood, properly planned, financially managed, operationally coordinated, and successfully executed while protecting the company's profitability, customer relationships, and operational commitments. All efforts should be done in alignment with the strategic vision and core values of the company, and they are intended to support our continued commitment to the highest level of ethics, integrity, and excellence in all aspects of the company's operations. Roles & Responsibilities: Preconstruction Participation Participate in preconstruction planning for assigned projects Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents Evaluate constructability and execution considerations and prepare project execution plans Provide operational input on manpower, equipment, production methods, and scheduling Assist Estimating in identifying project risks and opportunities Support development of execution strategies for complex projects Early identification of execution challenges Alignment between estimating assumptions and field execution Project Definition & Handoff Participate in formal estimating-to-operations handoff meetings Develop document and communicate a complete understanding of the project scope Understand estimate assumptions Understand bid qualifications and exclusions Review customer commitments Review project specifications Review contract requirements Verify project budget and production assumptions Confirm manpower and equipment requirements Complete the standardized project handoff checklist Preservation of project intent from estimate through execution Project Startup Lead internal project kickoff meeting Cost models and budget preparation Communication & coordination Coordination between field, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments Meeting leadership Project reporting Project Scheduling Project schedules Milestone tracking Schedule communication Schedule risk identification Project Financial Management Project budgets Cost tracking Financial forecasting Margin visibility Job cost reviews Cost exposure identification Billing coordination Forecast accuracy Revenue forecasting Cost forecasting Schedule forecasting Resource forecasting Risk forecasting Project Documentation & Submittals Submittals RFIs Contract documentation & tracking Drawing/document coordination Compliance documentation Change Order Management Change order identification Pricing coordination Change documentation Customer approval tracking Change recovery Risk escalation related to scope change Project Delivery & Closeout Punch list coordination Project closeout Documentation completion Final billing coordination Warranty coordination Customer satisfaction at project completion Skills Required: Strong understanding of HDD and Open Trench construction practices, project management methods and construction standards Proven track record managing large-scale HDD and Open Trench projects. Deep understanding of HDD equipment, tooling, and techniques. Ability to gather, analyze and present data Excellent written and verbal communication needed to interact with various stakeholders – internal and external Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Data analysis skills to identify trends, assess performance, and make informed decisions. Effective verbal and written communication to clearly convey information across different levels of the organization.
