Shift Team Lead, Maintenance - 2nd Shift Location: East Windsor Where you will work At our manufacturing and packaging facility, we produce more than 70 million units per year while maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability. Job Summary Working with maintenance staff and mechanics, you will assist, plan, and engage in daily production, manufacturing and facilities equipment setup, operations, preventive maintenance, and repairs. You will anticipate production and manufacturing equipment problems to minimize loss of work hours and achieve production, manufacturing, facilities, and quality objectives. What you will do Assign and coordinate specific work assignments, determining team members’ skills, workforce hours, recommend overtime, purchase materials, control costs, and workflow to achieve objectives; exchange timely information with maintenance staff on workforce and equipment needs. Evaluate, instruct, train, motivate, and assist team members to ensure safety, quality, production, maintenance, and facilities objectives are achieved. Assist Maintenance Manager in the selection and interview process to fill worker positions. Ensure all work is performed and completed according to standard operating procedures, job instructions, Shiseido safety/OHSA, and quality guidelines. Assist Maintenance staff in implementing all Shiseido safety policies and procedures, including housekeeping practices, workplace inspections, hazardous condition awareness, and respond to employee injuries. Investigate accident causes and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence. Work with maintenance staff to reduce equipment costs and recommend improvements in repair processes and operation. Maintain professionalism by staying abreast of new developments through publications, vendors and in-house training. Perform other related duties as assigned. Who you are Experienced with 7+ years of mechanical experience in a GMP environment (cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, food industry, or related consumer goods). Can work unsupervised and ensure high quality craftsmanship. Experienced in lean manufacturing (preferred). Effectively manage time, including work schedules and events. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, and necessary adjustments or repairs. Operate shop equipment including lathes, presses and bandsaws. Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, and alternative solutions. Program and troubleshoot PLC systems (preferred). Redesign functionality of existing equipment. Operate and maintain filling, packaging, labeling, product handling and facilities equipment. Communicate information and ideas effectively. Proficient in troubleshooting and repairs to pneumatics, hydraulics, air handling systems and controls. Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, technical publications, and networking. Develop and practice leadership and interpersonal skills. Communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
