RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend rotation with holidays as needed
• Patient ratio of 6:1 during all shifts
• Float required between all Cone Health facilities
• Minimum 2 years experience required (first time travelers accepted)
• Medical-surgical telemetry and telemetry experience required
• BLS certification required, ACLS and NIH preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass mandatory EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Care for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Manage patients with diagnoses including respiratory illness, post-op surgeries, orthopedics, CHF, diabetes, renal failure, and drug overdose
• Administer IV medication drips including Heparin and TNA
• Handle patients with CIWA scores below 7, suicidal patients, arrhythmias, and stable COVID patients
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Required certifications include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 41-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 34 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and offers modern equipment and resources to support complex medical-surgical and orthopedic cases requiring telemetry monitoring.
