Job Summary:
The operating room open heart (OR OH) registered nurse position is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The role involves providing high-quality, compassionate care in a specialized surgical setting. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. This position requires the ability to float to other units and hospitals as needed.

Job Details:

• Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours weekly, starting from 06/08/2026

• Required Qualifications:

  • Associated degree in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license for the state of Alabama or a Compact license (No Temp Licenses accepted)
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of recent experience working under a professional license in the specialty
  • Two years of experience preferred
  • Clinical setting experience in operating room open heart procedures is required

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience circulating in the operating room
  • Supervisory experience or familiarity with supervising licensed and non-licensed staff

• Additional Information:

  • Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
  • Supervises licensed practical nurses (LPNs), patient care assistants (PCAs), ultrasound staff (US), orthopedics technicians, and other non-licensed personnel
  • This is a patient-facing clinical position, not remote
  • Scrub attire: Solid navy
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
  • Parking available
  • Holidays as required and every other weekend
