Job Description

The Forklift Operator safely and efficiently operates heavy sit-down forklifts to move long, dimensional materials such as pipe, I-beams, and rebar in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment. This role focuses on accurate material handling, supporting daily production needs, and maintaining a clean and organized yard and warehouse area. This employee will be operating a 5K forklift.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy sit-down forklifts to move, load, and unload long, dimensional materials including pipe, I-beams, and rebar.
• Handle materials safely and efficiently in both indoor and outdoor areas, following all safety procedures and site guidelines.
• Transport products to and from storage areas, loading docks, and production zones as directed.
• Stack, stage, and organize materials in designated locations to support smooth production and shipping operations.
• Inspect forklifts before use and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with general material handling tasks to support manufacturing or warehouse operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area in the yard and warehouse.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Work scheduled shifts and occasional Saturdays to support production demands.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Demonstrated ability to safely move long, dimensional items such as pipe, I-beams, or rebar.
• Strong material handling skills with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Experience with heavy forklift operation in outdoor and non-climate-controlled environments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
• Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts starting at 6:00 AM.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience.
• Comfort working around heavy equipment and large industrial materials.
• Ability to work occasional Saturdays when production requires.
• Willingness to perform general labor and material handling tasks in addition to forklift operation.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled facility with the majority of work performed outdoors in a yard or similar setting. You will operate heavy sit-down forklifts and handle large, dimensional materials in varying weather conditions. The schedule runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts depending on production needs. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, focused on safety, teamwork, and efficient material flow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Magnolia, TX.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Magnolia,TX.
