Position: RN - Med Surg/Tele

Targeted Start Date: November 2

Shift Details

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Weekend Requirement: Yes, Every Other Weekend
On-Call Requirement: None

Licensure and Certifications

Required Licensure: NC or Compact license in hand
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS or Stroke Certification

Job Requirements

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
Charge Experience: Preferred
Charting System: Experience with Epic required
Patient Ratio Experience: 1:6
Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
LTAC Experience: Preferred

Accessing/Managing Ports
Bariatric surgery care
BiPAP/CPAP management
Blood Product Administration
Central line blood draw
Chest tube management
Colostomy/Ileostomy management
CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) management
Feeding tube care and management
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) use
Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Management of dysrhythmias
Surgical recovery procedures (Post Angiogram, Post MI, etc.)
Telemetry monitoring (on the unit and remote)
Wound care including Wound Vac management

Unit Details

Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
Daily Census: 30
Number of Beds: 39
Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary
Common Patient Diagnoses: Myocardial Infarctions, Acute Kidney Injuries, Renal Failure, Pneumonia, Total Joint Replacements, and Post-Operative Care

Flu Vaccinations: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted.
Attendance Policy: Up to three (3) absences permitted per 13-week contract; attendance will be monitored.
