Job Title: Field Service Technician Job Description

This is a hands-on position that requires technical problem-solving, excellent communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer location in Ticonderoga, NY to perform service work.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation, including daily service call reports and weekly tracking reports.
  • Manage chemical inventory, fill totes, or collaborate with the customer to direct tote filling.
  • Conduct lab testing such as solids/water clarification, plate testing, and wet end charge testing (training will be provided).
  • Troubleshoot processes, perform simple pump drawdowns, and evaluate program performance (training will be provided).
  • Communicate daily with the customer in person to address any requests and provide a weekly PSR.
  • Build strong relationships with customers on the paper making side of operations.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude for simple pump repair.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and paper making operations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Work Environment

This position is based at a client site, specifically a paper mill, with working hours from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The first 30 days include shadowing a current full-time representative and on-the-job training. The dress code is jeans or khakis paired with a polo or button-up shirt.

This is a Contract position based out of Ticonderoga, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.02 - $25.02/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
