Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st & 2nd Shift (based on business needs)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our shipping and receiving department. This role is responsible for leading the team, ensuring accurate shipments and deliveries, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and supporting food safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct daily Shipping & Receiving operations.
- Lead and support Shipping & Receiving Clerks.
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GMPs, and SQF food safety standards.
- Inspect shipping, receiving, freezer, cooler, and dock areas daily.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records.
- Monitor inventory organization in freezer, cooler, and dry storage.
- Train, coach, and support team members.
- Ensure department cleanliness and organization.
- Report equipment issues and coordinate service when needed.
- Authorize overtime as directed and communicate operational needs with management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain quality standards.
- Serve as backup for the Shipping & Receiving Manager when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–5 years of Shipping & Receiving experience.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating electric forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP and food safety practices is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish + English)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Walk, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in cold temperatures ranging from 0°ree;F to 40°ree;F .
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with slippery floors and moderate noise levels.
Experience:
- Shipping & receiving: 2 years (Required)
- Warehouse supervisor: 1 year (Required)
