About the Position

Job Title: Palliative Care Oncology Nurse Navigator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:30 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of palliative care experience preferred License: Must have a valid state nursing license Certifications: BLS required; CHPN preferred Must-Have: - Palliative care experience - Weekend availability required - Flexibility to float between campuses - Experience with Epic charting system preferred Description: The role involves working in outpatient palliative care clinics. The nurse navigator will be required to float between different campuses. This position requires working one day per week at one campus and another day per week at a different campus, with three days potentially remote. Healthcare professionals are expected to provide care for various cancer and blood disorders. Clinical responsibilities include pain assessment, patient and family education, and implementing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain interventions. Ideal candidates will demonstrate cultural awareness and effective communication skills. Familiarity with advanced directives, bereavement planning, and goal setting with patients and families is essential. This position supports an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Candidates must be ready to engage in death and dying counseling and perideath care for families. Flexibility in scheduling is crucial due to the need for coverage across multiple campuses and weekends. RTO requests must be made upfront, as changes cannot be accommodated after submission.
