Counter Sales Associate

Sell goods from wholesalers or manufacturers to businesses or groups of individuals. Work requires substantial knowledge of products and ability to interact with all types of customer situations while displaying an exceptional customer oriented behavior. This position reports to the Branch Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs. Recommends products to customers, based on customer's specific needs and interests. Answers questions about products, prices, and credit terms. Talks to customers regarding sales potential of new products. Estimates delivery dates/times and arranges delivery schedules. Completes and maintains sales orders. Assembles and stocks product displays and reorders manufacturer samples. Maintain and clean showroom and workspace. Effectively resolves issues related to customer complaints and delivery issues. Open and close store, cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating credit card slips, and balancing cash drawers, and making deposits. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Arrange and display merchandise to promote sales. Ability to multi-task in a high volume environment. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience: 2 years CDL Class A driving experience. Clean driving record, standard transmission, harness safety, and map reading skills. Hazmat endorsement a plus. NO fear of heights and ability to lift75+ pounds. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Proficiency in writing simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
