What You'll Need:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Louisiana required)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for various learning styles
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to fostering a supportive atmosphere
  • Familiarity with current special education strategies and best practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction in alignment with students’ IEP goals
  • Develop engaging lesson plans tailored to individual needs across age groups (details provided during interview)
  • Maintain accurate student records and monitor progress
  • Communicate regularly with families and educational staff
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that may include assistants or paraprofessionals
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines for special education

What to Expect:

  • Contract assignment for the 2024-2025 school year with defined start and end dates
  • Clear caseload information, supervision details, number of schools assigned, and onboarding requirements shared during interview
  • Interview format includes onsite, remote, panel, or 1:1—flexible options based on candidate preference and school schedule
  • Efficient decision-making process and support throughout onboarding, including fingerprinting or other school-specific requirements
