Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Nurse position available in a Level I trauma center. The role involves providing specialized circulating and scrub support for cardiac, thoracic, and general surgeries, with the opportunity to float across multiple campuses. The position requires proficiency in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures, including open heart scrubbing and general circulating duties, with a focus on trauma and vascular cases.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current/recent operating room and CVOR experience; experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery; basic general surgery circulating experience; EPIC electronic medical records experience within previous 3 years; trauma level I experience highly preferred; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months; scrub experience including open heart scrubbing; active Iowa or multistate license; current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; drivers license required
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma level II experience highly preferred
• Schedule: The assignment begins on 10/05/2026 and ends on 04/05/2027, with orientation scheduled on 09/21, 09/28, 10/05, and 10/12.
• Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing in cardiac, thoracic, and general surgeries, operating Da Vinci robots, utilizing Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and working in a fast-paced, trauma-focused environment. Floating across all campuses will be required.
• Certification requirements include active BLS through the AHA or ARC.
• The role involves working 1 weekend per month with scheduled on-call duties, including overnight support and call rotations.
