Welding Subject Matter ExpertServes as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, mentoring team members, and supporting process improvements to enhance quality, safety, and operational performance.Responsibilities & Duties· Serve as the subject matter expert for welding standards and certifications.Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.Enforce safety policies, identify workplace hazards, and promote a safe working environment.Train and mentor welders while ensuring compliance with quality, productivity, and safety standards.Monitor weld quality, document production metrics, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Perform advanced welding operations, including multi-process welding, and out-of-position welding.Ability and willingness to learn and perform Robotic welding programmingConduct safety bi-weekly meeting (Toolbox) to build safety awareness in the work place with zero injury target.Able to document data and write clear reports (production, rework, quality, line stop etc.)Perform 100% first article inspections (first piece of each fabricated drawing) by visual examine work piece, measure part or hole dimensions or sizes, square, flatness and other drawing instructions.Assist employee to operate small saw machine, iron machine, mobile plasma cutting machine for coping, notching and cutting materials.Ability to operate power such as angle grinder, drill, die grinder and chatter gun.Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.Maintain shop floor consumables to ensure continuous production and product delivery on-time.All other duties assigned.Other ResponsibilitiesTo ensure Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which includes quality, is incorporated into every product we produce.Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, Operational FrameworkRequirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, assign, and coordinate work in a manufacturing environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees at all levels.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S principles, workplace safety practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.Working knowledge of structural welding codes, standards, and industry best practices (AWS D1.1 or equivalent preferred).Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, productivity, and operational excellence.Education and Experience (Required Levels)High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including fitting and welding experience, required.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
