ASSOCIATE LEGAL COUNSEL

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Underwriting team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an early-career attorney to gain hands‑on experience in real estate transactions, title insurance, underwriting risk assessment, and legal compliance while working alongside experienced legal and business professionals. Duties & Responsibilities Review and analyze title reports, legal documents, and transaction records to assist senior title underwriters with evaluating compliance with applicable underwriting standards. Provide legal research and guidance on title, escrow, and real estate matters affecting residential and commercial transactions. Assist in identifying, analyzing, and resolving title defects, risk exposures, and underwriting issues. Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including deeds, affidavits, indemnity agreements, easements, and other real estate-related instruments. Maintain accurate legal and underwriting files and documentation. Serve as a legal resource for internal teams and assist with training and educational initiatives as needed. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Hawaiʻi, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly upon hire. 0 to 3 years of legal experience; experience in real estate law, title insurance, escrow, or commercial transactions is preferred. Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills. Ability to assess risk and provide practical business-oriented legal solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Job Type Full-Time Salary Starting at $75,000 to $90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
