Senior Bridge Design Engineer What you will do: Perform structural calculations, modeling, analysis, and design Prepare contract documents including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates Manage and lead multi-disciplinary projects from proposal stage, through design, and design services during construction Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs Develop, prepare and review reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions Conduct engineering research and provide technical assistance to consulting engineers, contractors, public officials, municipalities, and others as needed Deliver professional presentations Participate in meetings with clients and project team members Conduct quality review of structural calculations and contract documents Stay up-to-date with the state of practice, and integrate innovation and technology in design What you will bring: Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited university 3+ years of experience working on FDOT Bridge projects (state or local agency) Professional Engineer licence in Florida with 6+ years of experience Proficiency in structural analysis programs such as Midas Civil and familiarity with industry software such as Bentley OpenBridge, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, and MDX Proficiency in structural detailing in MicroStation and AutoCAD Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Enthusiastic, can‑do attitude, and strong team‑work ethic Good organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a project team and exercise independent initiative Ability to work 40 hours a week Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment; occasional travel or field visits may be required to support Open to remote candidates residing in Florida with experience working on FDOT projects Benefits Full‑time WSB employees qualify for a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, company‑paid short‑ and long‑term disability, 401(k) with match, paid time off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
