Oncology/Infusions Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Oncology/Infusions Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver safe, effective, and quality patient-centered care in a cancer care and infusion setting. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with 40 hours per week, typically from 7 AM to 3 PM, though flexibility may be required based on patient needs. Candidates interested in part-time hours, such as 34 or 36 hours per week, will be considered if they demonstrate strong qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Clinical Competency: Adhere to the professional nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Communicate patient status with physicians and the multidisciplinary team throughout care.
• Vascular Access: Initiate intravenous therapy and serve as a resource for intravenous therapy needs within the organization. Manage peripheral IV access, ports, PICC lines, and central lines.
• Medication Safety: Administer medications safely, maintain competence with infusion drugs, and follow protocols for hazardous drug handling.
• Business Competencies: Collaborate to build the infusion business while ensuring quality care and patient satisfaction. Review monthly volume reports and engage in patient recruitment and pre-authorization processes.
• Documentation: Document nursing care promptly and accurately, ensuring adherence to standards.
• Professional Responsibility: Maintain chemotherapy administration certifications and keep current with professional knowledge through education and networking.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure quality of care aligns with therapeutic standards and participate in performance improvement projects.
• Patient Advocacy: Protect patient rights, provide emotional support, and establish individualized care plans considering cultural and developmental needs.
• Organizational Expectations: Attend work consistently, maintain patient confidentiality, communicate effectively, and engage in departmental initiatives and educational requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current NH RN licensure and BLS certification required; ACLS and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical skills and current knowledge of infection control practices.
• Ability to effectively organize work and set priorities.
• Positive bedside manner and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.
• Vascular access experience is preferred.
