We are seeking an accomplished Director of Rehabilitation Research to provide strategic and scientific leadership for a leading rehabilitation research program focused on Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) .

The Director will oversee a portfolio of clinical research initiatives while maintaining an active research program, developing new research opportunities, mentoring investigators, and building collaborations with physicians, clinicians, academic institutions, and national research organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the short- and long-term strategic vision for the SCI research program.
• Lead and manage clinical and translational rehabilitation research initiatives.
• Develop and secure federal grants and other external funding .
• Oversee research portfolios, projects, budgets, and resources.
• Lead, mentor, and develop investigators and research staff.
• Design, conduct, and analyze research studies and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with academic, clinical, and research partners.
• Advise executive leadership on research strategy and opportunities.
• Represent the organization with external agencies, institutions, and professional organizations.
• Support investigator recruitment and development.
• Identify opportunities to expand the program's national research impact and reputation.

Required Qualifications

• MD or PhD required.
• Minimum 7 years of administrative experience as a program director, department head, and/or principal investigator.
• Demonstrated success in federal grant development and research funding .
• Strong background in rehabilitation research , preferably with relevance to spinal cord injury.
• Proven experience in research design, data analysis, and scientific publication.
• Substantial record of peer-reviewed publications and recognized research expertise.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation research funding sources.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
