Senior Director Of Human ResourcesThe ideal candidate will be a well-rounded Human Resources professional looking to advance their career at a forward thinking, nonprofit institution. Experience with employee population of approximately 250 full and part-time employees ranging from executive leadership, curatorial experts, in-house publication and design teams, to dedicated front line staff. Our client in downtown Dallas is looking for a Senior Director of Human Resources who is responsible for leading a high-performance, results-oriented HR team that will create, deliver, and manage HR strategy and processes in alignment with objectives and strategic vision. This role works closely with each member of the executive team and is instrumental in partnering with key internal stakeholders and consultants to lead the annual Compensation Committee review with the Board of Trustees. In addition, the Director of Human Resources will guide all aspects of recruitment for staff and interns, employee benefits, employee relations, compensation strategy, organizational culture and structure, compliance and risk management, staff and executive learning and development, as well as serve as a trusted partner who can advise leadership when making critical decisions.Duties and Responsibilities:Enhance staff capacity, diversity, and professionalism to create a performance-driven cultureEnsure core values are instilled and embodied in all staff and volunteers, and that those values are the foundation of actionsDevelop and implement best practice HR strategies and programs by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition and retention, compensation strategy and structure, benefits, records management, succession planning, and employee relationsEnsure HR-related compliance by staying abreast of legal changes and regularly monitoring areas of the organization that present potential areas of liabilityServe as the HR expert for the organization, using keen judgment when outside counsel and support is neededManage human resources operations by recruiting top talent, delivering best in class onboarding, training and development, coaching, and counselingPrepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programsSupport leadership by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisionsMaintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positionsManage Human Resource staff planning, monitoring, and appraising job results through counseling and disciplining employees when necessaryEnsure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee performance by training managers to coach and discipline employees, scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, and counseling employees and supervisorsMaintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending Human Resource policies and proceduresMaintain employee records by designing a filing and retrieval system, keeping past and current recordsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societiesMonitor organizational turnover and conduct and analyze exit interviews to recommend necessary changesSupport the organization's compensation philosophy plans by conducting periodic surveys, assisting with job evaluations, monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions and recommending, planning, and supporting the implementation of pay structure revisions, as neededOversees the implementation of benefit plans and maintains the benefit broker relationshipSupports the annual 401k audit in partnership with the accounting department and AuditorsAdministers leave programs including FMLA, Parental Leave, and personal leaves of absence in accordance with federal and organizational policiesLeads employee morale events including monthly Coffee Talk, Staff Exhibition Previews, annual Holiday party, and various other staff eventsGuides the internship recruitment and evaluation process with HR staff supportOther duties as assignedRequirements Education, Experience, and Certifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources or related field required;
