CT Tech - Diagnostic Imaging

Job Description

The CT Tech is responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining scans, positioning patients to capture appropriate images, and operating equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue. On-call duty is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required paperwork and requisitions for ordered exams in a timely manner.
• Schedule all exams promptly.
• Perform diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams on patients using both department and portable equipment.
• Inject IV contrast media as needed.
• Conduct a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and printing protocols as directed by the Radiologist.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical and electronic equipment failures related to radiographic machines and processors.
• Explain procedures to patients and address any questions regarding equipment or procedures.
• Transport patients to and from the department as required.
• Order necessary supplies and maintain par levels.
• Treat patients, guests, coworkers, and physicians with courtesy and friendliness.
• Attend required in-services and orientations, and work closely with floor staff to facilitate excellent patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• CT Certification required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the Medical Imaging field (not including schooling).
• Experience operating facility-specific equipment, preferably Philips.
• On-call requirements.
