Emergency Medical Technician

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate medical care to ill or injured patients. The employee is responsible for the safe transportation of patients to and/or from medical facilities.Position Responsibilities:Responds to emergency calls, provides basic life support, and administers emergency medical care.Responds to non-emergency calls, such as requests to transport patients from hospitals to their homes or from a local medical facility to specialized medical center.Operate ambulances, emergency vehicles and equipment safety, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Company.Has a thorough knowledge of the street, highway and addressing system in which he or she will be working.Understands all applicable legal, moral and ethical issues surrounding emergency medical service.Functions within the scope of care as defined by state, regional, and local regulatory agencies.Ensures that the ambulance is clean, fully inspected and ready for the next transport.Prepares records/reports related to patient transportation and medical care.Delivers polite, compassionate care to all patients regardless of the patient's race, age, sex, religion, national origin or ability to pay.Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with other emergency service workers, patients, families, hospital and facility staff and other cooperating agencies.Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of safety procedures.Performs in a calm, resourceful manner in emergency situations.Maintains valid licensures and certifications through continuing education requirements.Perform station duties as assigned.Other duties as required.Essential Physical Functions:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
