Employment type: Permanent, full‑time, 1‑year contract renewal cycle. Salary: Up to $110,800 per annum (dependent on experience). About the Role The Art Teacher will deliver studio art courses in grades 6–12, focusing on drawing and painting, while undertaking assigned faculty duties. The role reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for STEAM and collaborates with the Department Chair. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and teach visual arts classes for students in grades 6–12. Develop and implement studio art lessons that promote creativity, technical skill, and artistic confidence. Use a variety of media, especially drawing and painting, to engage students. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a supportive learning environment. Integrate educational technology into lesson plans and assessments. Collaborate with faculty and curriculum staff on curriculum design and assessment. Participate in professional development and school meetings as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Relevant teaching experience for middle and high school students. Strong studio art skills across multiple media. Experience designing differentiated instruction for diverse learners, including students with language‑based learning differences. Effective classroom management and communication skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Knowledge of educational technology and its application in art education. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and school policies.
