Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Role Description

Magellan is looking for a talented Tableau Developer to help build and manage a suite of Tableau Dashboards for our Public Sector clients. This candidate should have deep experience in building Tableau visualizations, worksheets, and dashboards, and be well-versed in the Tableau ecosystem. The candidate should also be comfortable with designing and building Calculated Fields, Filters, Dashboard Parameters, and other Tableau functionality. Ideally the candidate also has concrete SQL knowledge, capable of writing and editing queries for data research and testing.

• Analyze business requirements and create technical specifications for Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
• Blueprint, gather requirements, design, roll out, and maintain BI solutions for business owners.
• Work with multiple types of healthcare customer data, designing and creating engaging, high-impact dashboards and visualizations.
• Analyze data, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement.
• Work closely with Business Intelligence (BI) architects to gather and document required BI system requirements.
• Translate business requirements into specifications for developing data objects and/or frameworks.
• Extract, transform, and load data into BI applications.
• Develop, test, and debug BI applications and ad-hoc reports.
• Develop front-end reporting applications using Tableau and Cognos.
• Utilize scripting language to meet complex business requirements.
• Provide support to ensure data availability and performance of enterprise data and BI environments.
• Resolve data and reporting issues from business partners.
• Assist architects with client presentations and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with other developers on standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior staff on the use and value of standards.
• Be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle.
• Use creativity and curiosity to partner with associates in other business areas.
• Interface with other teams and departments to develop and modify reporting applications.
• Provide data and programming expertise to meet internal ad hoc data requirements.

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years of experience in Business Intelligence (BI) analysis and development.
• Experience developing BI solutions in the QlikView/Sense or similar technologies.
• Experience working in Data Warehouse environments reporting on dimensions/hierarchies.
• Solid experience developing complex Qlik data models.
• Strong knowledge using set analysis and set expressions.
• Experience in developing extensions in Qlik Sense, including JavaScript and D3.
• Work experience on mashups and deploying Qlik applications on custom portals.
• Extensive use of SQL RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and performance tuning experience.
• Extensive use of ETL tools like SSIS/Informatica/Snaplogic.
• Requires strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform and contribute in a strong team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Benefits

• Salary Minimum: $83,890
• Salary Maximum: $142,610
• This position may be eligible for short-term incentives as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
