ELECTRICIAN / LICENSED JOURNEYMAN

Electrician – Cox-Powell Corporation Cox-Powell Corporation, a leading commercial mechanical and electrical contractor, is hiring an Electrician. Candidates must have a current Virginia state license (Journeyman or Master) and at least 4 years of experience as a Journeyman/Master Electrician. Local candidates only with Commercial HVAC experience are preferred. Signing bonus of $3,000 is available for qualified applicants. Responsibilities Test electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to identify issues, confirm safety, and ensure compatibility. Use testing devices, blueprints, and maps to determine steps needed to access electrical situations. Repair electric issues by replacing or installing components, wiring, or devices. Document actions, testing results, observations, diagnoses, and steps taken for each job. Respond quickly to emergency calls, ensure safety upon arrival, and provide directions to affected individuals. Maintain all equipment in good condition and report issues to the supervisor. Qualifications & Requirements Current Virginia state license for Journeyman or Master Electrician. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Journeyman/Master Electrician. High‑school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and state/local regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals. Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools. Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must pass background and substance‑abuse screening before employment; subject to random post‑accident screening. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
